Nightmares (Week 4)

This season is unrelenting in its devastation to star players and schedules. We have officially entered the phase where we experience a clusterfuck of covid cases and bye weeks. Each week, we're terrified of which players will go down and which practice squad players vulture TDs. This week showed a huge disparity between teams with options and teams without by having some of the largest margins all season. But with people left no choice, its getting harder and harder to blame people for losing. Its just bad luck all around. Let's review this sad excuse of Week 4.

It Ertz 111.80 vs Samuel Lamar Jackson 165.20

You know the season is fucked up when people gotta start a combination of Randall Cobb, Russell Gage, Adrian Peterson and Brandon Aiyuk....yuck. What's worse is that the other options on Trav's bench didn't get much better, which means its not even a bye week issue. You know its bad when Ertz can't even get more than 10 yards with Dallas Goedart out. Right now, this team is internally divided between the have's and have not's of talent. Good luck next week Trav, you're gonna need it.

On the other end of this matchup, Gerald's team is finally starting to ramp up in the wins department. After weathering the storm of facing the highest point totals in the week, his team's high scoring finally had a chance to shine. Led by the losing efforts of Amari Cooper, this win was in the bag before Trav could ice his achilles at dinner. He even had the sense to sit AJ Green when many others would feel forced to based on draft price. Must be nice when you have the option to sit AJ Green. Congratulations on the win.

Easy Drake Oven 114.90 vs Philip on my Chubb 170.15

Yikes. All that confidence leading up to this matchup really came back to haunt Shorty. While savagely telling everyone to stop bitching up, his star RBs were nowhere to be found. He even dismissed concerns while being more active in the chat than the last 3 years combined. Its like he got plagued by his own words. You'd think they were the ones with covid. There's going to be some serious worry moving forward for Shorty with Chubb gone. We'll see if Josh Allen can continue this tear, otherwise its night night on his playoff hopes. Might be time to eat some humble pie and go back to those quiet wins.

With his back against the wall, our reigning champ managed a commanding win against his very own naysayer. Despite missing Devante Adams and James Connor, Joe Mixon finally stepped up. Who needs to worry about not getting the ball inside the 10 when you can run for 20 and 30 yard TDs. Now don't expect that every week, but that was surely a release from all the frustration that Mixon had been giving up til this point. Let's see how you do when you have to make tougher decisions when Mostert, Adams, and Conner come back. Luckily you play me......so call it two wins in a row. I hate this league.

This Team Iz America 120.20 vs Green Eggs and DAMN 216.20

Another week of letting your roster make decisions for you. With no one to turn to, Carlos Hyde was left in the lineup despite having a designation of being out. On top of that, the lack of depth at WR keeps rearing its ugly head with MVS having less than 10 points despite being the #1 WR for the Packers this week. This was an expected but still terrible loss. At this rate, I think Fanduel should have a prop bet on the week Gordon will have his first win. I'd think its +10000 for Week 26.

Yet again, Heddie delivers with another strong performance led by the #1 Fantasy QB in Dak Prescott. He even allowed OBJ to put up points like its 2014 again. When Miles Sanders is your lowest scoring player in your lineup, you know things are just going your way. Maybe its all those 3rd places or the way you lost but this is really shaping up to be the year you get the monkey off your back. Then again, this could be the year that doesn't count. Just be happy with the way things are going because so many have so few.

A Team has No Name 126.90 vs falseProfits 130.95

Its a sad day when Shenault manages more points than Robert Woods when he plays the lowly Giants. This must've been a heartbreaker for Jesus, as he's battled injuries and losses since day 1. How much longer should you have to deal with an up and down Godwin? How much longer can you watch as Zeke just isn't given the TD respect he deserves? By the looks of 2020, a lot longer. Hopefully you can get a  healthy roster going into next week and put together a win. Until then, keep digging through the waivers and stay away from broken mirrors because you're gonna need all the luck you can get.

Squeaking out a win without Calvin Ridley or Michael Thomas is a tall task and Adam was able to deliver. Despite losing Ekler, Adam's team is still poised to earn a win with Josh Kelley on his bench to quickly replace him. At some point, all of these pieces will come together and you'll be able to compete in the playoffs like I know you can. Luckily for you, you probably won't even need Michael Thomas to be back for Week 5 when you face Gordon. Congrats on the win.

Los Lobos 128.80 vs ShuTheBucUp 204.85

On the bright side of this matchup, it looks like Lobos didn't have to agonize over choosing the right QB this week with Cam Newton out with covid. Unfortunately, it didn't matter. Even if he managed to do the right thing and start any of his other WR's over Julian Edelman, it would've been no match for the fused powers of Heddie. Maybe Josh Jacobs returns to his early season glory. Maybe David Johnson starts adding TD's to his production. But until then, its gonna be an uphill battle to get out of the bottom qtr of the league.

Heddie, I don't know what to say. The fact that you managed to ALSO get 200 points in the same week as your other half is amazing. If I didn't know any better, I'd think that you and Eddie were in cahoots to play each other in the chip. The winner of said chip would then determine which side of the bed the other sleeps or who's on the bottom. Either way, you're putting together a string of good weeks that I haven't seen in quite a long time. Congrats on this win during the chaos of the season.

Kamaravirus 156.80 vs DA GAWD 96.25

Juan, your point total here could have been MUCH higher had your players not been vultured by the handcuffs you have on the bench. Latavius Murray snatched 2 TDs and Jamaal Williams gobbled up 8 catches for 95 yards. On top of that, you correctly rostered Tonyan only to watch his points wither away on the bench. Frankly, I'm happy that you didn't get to add those points to your total, otherwise there'd be no hope for the rest of us. Congrats on putting together the squad that Covid-19 would draft.

Each week, I die a little inside. If its not TY Hilton and DJ Moore looking like WR5's, its the fact that I spent tons of money on a RB like I was the Colts trading for Trent Richardson. To add insult to injury, my solid Julio Jones is now betraying me. The only bright spot is Stefon Diggs and I can't trade him for true value. This season is a complete nightmare on all fronts in this league. So now my new mission is to simply complete this lifeless recaps. The only thing I can say is that at least I'm not Gordon. Gotta count your blessings.

#Amen
