Plot Twist (Week 4)

Its Week 4 and the Fantasy Football landscape is filled with twists and turns. Some teams got their first win of the season. Some players rose from the ashes to get a TD while others continued their disappointing slide. The only thing we know for sure is that a healthy fantasy team is a winning fantasy team. Lets recap the performances while I push through writing this recap. Lord knows I don't want to.

Q-Anon Quon 81.85 vs Team DQ 198.55

The injury bug is strong with this one. Losing Saquon and DJ Moore early in a week without Justin Jefferson is tough. None of it mattered though since you ran into the highest point total of the week. But I'm thinking you're putting the bug on your own team. Picking up half-a-leg Tyreek Hill is a headscratcher when your team can't stay on the field. Desperate times, desperate measures huh? Better be careful going forward though because you're dangerously close to Gordon's team and he just got his first win. Start getting those trade feelers out there. Waivers are slim and you got too many Q's.

Another week with the highest point total of the week - and this time Josh Allen wasn't the one to lead the charge. Bijan Robinson continues to be the homerun hitter with a solid QB. The scary thing is that the point total could've been even higher if the other B. Robinson didn't vulture 3 TDs. That would take you into 2018 GAWD territory. Continue silently getting these wins.

My Njigba 117.60 vs This Team Won't be 0-Forever 140.30

Now this loss must've been rough to watch. Early in the week, I'm sure you were banking on a win. Then the unthinkable happened - JSN didn't score over 20 points. Then David Montgomery scored less than 5 points in a game that had 64 points scored between both teams. To top it off, the 3 TE strategy came to bite you in the ass after Kincaid scored a measly 1.7 points. But worst of all, you gave Gordon his first win after genuinely being concerned that he might not win all season. As they say, if you want to make GAWD laugh - tell me your plans.

Now look at this. The sun does shine sometimes. Going into Sunday night, you had to feel the closest you've felt to a win in a month. You got the revenge against the guy who said you wouldn't get a win all season. If there's any fantasy equivalent to a Shawshank Redemption moment its this one. You crawled the sewage of insults in the fantasy chat for an entire month to get your first win in October. Nobody think you'll make the playoffs, but at least you didn't end up like the 2017 Cleveland Browns. Congrats.

J'almostgotit 120.20 vs StatueofGibbserty 125.40

What a rollercoaster Sunday. The early slate saw you lose your number pick to a concussion in the first quarter. Then Ceedee Lamb told George Pickens that he's his sidekick. Parker Washington had an amber alert out and Christian Watson turned back into himself. But then there was hope left after Kyren Williams put up a monster performance. All you needed was Shough to make it a reasonable game. But alas. We all fall short of the glory sometimes - even Da GAWD. Once Chase is back in your lineup, you'll still be in the right space. You've never missed the playoffs and I don't expect that to start this year.

With your back against the wall, you managed to pull out a much needed win. You were without Coker, Devonta Smith, Caleb Williams, and you're still down Charbonnet. You even bench Khalif Raymond after he was running hot. Part of me thinks you would've done that anyway since you couldn't bare to root for a player against your beloved Jets. Your team is coming back down to reality a bit but that's not much of a concern. You're still at the top at 4-0. Keep rollin.

Amon-Ramen Noodles 148.00 vs The Syndicate 178.25

Tough loss Jesus. Kenneth Walker tried his best to bring your team back into relevance but Ian's squad was just too much. Seems like you called Eddie and you guys made a pact this week to bench any viable players against the Jets. The difference for you was that Odunze did do more than Darren Waller. Its all a wash though because you got beat by 30 points and there just wasn't enough changes you could've made to get a different outcome. At least you know you can start Odunze for Week 5. Dust yourself off and get back out there.

Ain't been a dad longer than a month and already puttin' belt to ass. Despite a goose-egg from Rashee Rice and Jeremyah Love exiting in the first half, you managed to put on a great performance. Had they played decently, you might've had highest point total of the week. You even had ponits to spare with Evans, Strange, and Brian Robinson. Since the Vikings no longer know how to score TDs, you even had the best kicker of the week. Bravo on the performance.

Team 7 Heaven 148.15 vs Chasing Flowers 180.00

If only you played Jesus and Ian played Quis. Would've been a small victory for you instead of the beat down you caught this week. You finally got Nico Collins and Puka Nacua back in your lineup but at the cost of Breece Hall. Then we see Kyle Monongai on the bench like you put him in timeout for showing up late to practice. None of that matters since Quis put up 180, but still. Your team is good and health is going to be important for this team moving forward. Until then, keep looking for those small ways to win. Don't relapse into old ways.

Second highest point total of the week. What a difference a trade makes. With ETN down, you were able to slide Kamara into his rightful place. The Burrow, Brown, Higgins trifecta was even reminiscent of 2018 GAWD territory. Even the bench managed to score points. I bet you're feeling like your old self again - taking advantage of Gordon trades, beating up on Gerald's team. Unfortunately we can't let that happen, but good win on the week. Well deserved.

U Can't CMC Me 124.20 vs Da GAWD al Gaib 110.75

I blame this loss on myself. Early in the week, I didn't give this game the proper attention it deserved when I saw that Jadarian Price was on IR while Mitchell and White were not likely to play. I fully expected you to play MHJ over Doubs and things tumbled from there. Just when I thought I had some hope when Lamar went down, Derrick Henry didn't get the 3 TDs I expected against his former team. Then Monday Night, you shut it all down by not accepting the juju I was placing on your team. Excellent maneuvering and win Adam. You did a Plot Twist on Da GAWD.

Da GAWD picked up all the right waiver people and managed to start the two guys that would get me the win. The second MHJ scored, I knew his kindred spirit BTJ would score. Either way, a loss is a loss. But its far from over. The season is long and we just got into October.

#Amen
